Have WE Honored God?

#GodBlessAmericaToday’s reflection on #50daysto50 is about Honoring God. If you happen to miss any of my other reflections, you may find them here at wendytwine.com/50daysto50.

Yesterday’s reflection I talked about how we are in holiday weekend called “Memorial Day” here in the United States of America. With me continuing on our reflection this weekend about Memorial Day and honoring those who have served and even more those who have lost their lives on our behalf for us to have freedom.

But what about God? We started this nation asking God to bless this nation and for the leaders and people to put their trust in him. Yet everywhere we turn now, we want to have his name removed from our goverment buildings, remove his name in our pledge, removed him from our public schools when we took prayer out in 1962 and Bible in 1963 (see article in religionandpolitics.org).

We have seen more of a major break down in our society since we have been rejecting God. If you look back 50-60+ years back, you will not see the upheaval that we are seeing today? Why is that?

We are getting mad at God when we are having economic turn downs, crime rising up in the form of riots in our cities, and “religious groups” that kill in the name of God, etc…  Good people getting hurt and we ask, “Where is God?” If we reject God, he will not stay where he is not wanted. Yes, he is long suffering and will woo and draw us for a period of time. But if we don’t repent and turn back to him, then we will be a country left to our own demise.

Are you one of those asking God to leave you alone or to have any “remembrance” or “Memorial” of what he has done for you and our country? If so, ask God to forgive you and ask him to be “honored” and “remembered” once again in your life and in our country.
