Expect The Unexpected

The Unexpected Battle Wound

Today’s reflection for #50daysto50 is about the unexpected. For other reflections if you missed any, you can find them at wendytwine.com/50daysto50.

Well anyhow I will share that this evening we had an unexpected event happen in our family. In fact the image reflects my youngest grandson from my daughter having a battle wound in the back of his head that has a gaping hole. He feel off the couch and hit his head on the table. Thank God both mom and dad were present when it happened and also happen to be medical professionals (daughter is a nurse and dad a fire fighter/EMT) that they knew what to do.

In the mean time, that meant Mimi aka Wendy, had to step in and watch the other grandchildren while taking the youngest to get his stitches done.

When life happens to throw you unexpected curve balls, it has a way of showing you what you are made of and who you put your trust in.

James 1:2-4 tells us in the Bible, that we are to count it all joy when we encounter various trials because it will test our faith, develop our patience, and if it has its way produce a perfect work in us. How do you deal with unexpected events in your life? Do you count it all joy? I can honestly say that I don’t always count it joy at the time, but over time and looking back with reflection of the event(s), I can see how God’s hand was there and how he shaped me and molded me to be more like him.

Are you letting the unexpected produce a perfect work in you? If not, why not? Share below.
